Looking back at this week it surprised me to see how the T’CupZ team: Allegra, Belen and I have been not only so into the project but also been so productive. Although we’ve had two big challenges this week I feel we have been able to break past them and get all the assigned work done. Our main challenge this week apart from it being ICC and having a lot of distractions was that one of our group members, Allegra was in a trip for the whole week. At first I was worried about the miscommunication we could have specially since she was at the other side of the world and distance was going to make it hard to make decisions and agree on them but luckily none of that was a problem. Allegra, the leader managed to develop a very specific and organized agenda that would help all of us stay organized, productive and know when things had to be done. Also we were constantly connected through our “Whatsapp” group, which worked perfect for communication. For this week Belen and I had to focus in getting the name and logo done and figure out what three types of tea blends we wanted to have. Besides, as part of my job I developed a financial projection stating all the materials, ingredients and equipment we need, their costs and amount. Although we have been able to manage the distance issue, I feel we are a bit behind compared to the other groups. Since most of the groups took one of the ideas pitched and developed it they already had their name, logo and product figured out. What they were focused in doing right now is financing and prototyping. Instead, since we just took my idea of selling tea and changed it completely its like basically started from scratch. We already have decided on the name of the business but I feel that Belen and I could have been more productive in developing it because we still haven’t decided on the final logo and we also decided on creating a slogan. Besides, we haven't had the chance to prototype any of the three different types of blends, which is also pulling us behind. For next week we need to have our final name, logo and slogan, the three blends tested and start buying all equipment needed (talking with suppliers about cost). I feel that the system we have developed of having an agenda with tasks and link to important documents will help us to continue moving on with our business in the most effective way. If we keep this system I believe we will be able to sell for the end of the month or even sooner. Finally, T’CupZ is starting to grow as a company, the same way as Allegra, Belen and I are growing as students/entrepreneurs. Besides, only from this week we have learned a lot of aspects about developing a business, the main takeaway from this week was that communication and staying organized is key to being productive and successful. For the next week we need to concentrate in catching up and continue growing as a company.
